John Galliano's Spring collection was absolutely stunning. Inspired by an actress living in Paris in the late 1920's - Maria Lani whom she convinced artists across Paris to paint her portrait which was to be used on one of her films. She took the portraits and sold them and with the money left for America.
In the beginning trousers are wide, skirts asymmetrical with ruffles, kimono styled trenches with butterflies and then to finish off the story we are saturated with a winter wonderland of delicate sheer silhouette of white and silver embellished evening gowns.
The palette was shades of pinks and blues with oriental prints and makeup was dramatic and dark.
Maria Lani would of been proud!
